VET Retail Presentation at Irymple Secondary College
On Friday, October 11 we held a presentation ceremony at our school for 48 Year 10 students to celebrate them successfully completing their Certificate II in Retail through Fishers Academy. The students studied the subject for a full year, beginning in the second semester of Year 9 and finishing half way through Year 10. The Certificate II in Retail is a nationally recognised qualification, where students study a theory component at school and complete practical work placement in the Fishers stores at Mildura and Red Cliffs. Many of our students have gained casual employment at Fishers and other local retail outlets while undertaking the course. It’s a fantastic partnership between the school and Fishers which has been running now for several years.
Alan Fisher, Managing Director of Fishers was in attendance. Special thanks to Mrs Pongraz and our Certificate II Hospitality students for providing catering for the event and to Mr Hung for his photography. One of our students, Lorianne Lowerson, was our keynote speaker. We also thank our classroom teachers, Mrs Kee and Miss Stevens, for their work with our three VET Retail classes.
Huge congratulations to all our graduating Certificate II Retail students.
