INTERHOUSE CROSS COUNTRY
Our Inter-House Cross Country run was held at Apex Park on Monday 7th May. With nearly 300 students participating in the event, the day was a huge success, with everyone having a great day. The weather was fine which made the day an ideal one for running. The fine weather and effort put in by runners might also explain part of the reason why Anthony Ryan’s snags were so popular at the end. In fact they were so popular we ran out! Many students took the opportunity to run their best times while others chose to jog and/or walk the course at their leisure. Some excellent times were recorded with age group champions and placegetters on the day being:
13 Yrs Girls - 1st and AGC - Hanna Zambelli (R), 2nd - Jorja Delcastegne (L), 3rd - Ieesha Williams (L)
13 Yrs Boys - 1st and AGC - Isaiah Bettess (R), 2nd - Humayun Nasirie (M), 3rd - Jacob Young (R)
14 Yrs Girls - 1st and AGC - Latara Trigg (L), 2nd - Kayla Burling (L), 3rd - Maddy Oliver (M)
14 Yrs Boys - 1st and AGC - Ben Doherty (J), 2nd - Bayley Kelly (R), 3rd - Kade Baynes (M)
15 Yrs Girls - 1st and AGC - Isabella Walsh (M), 2nd - Elyza Penny (M), 3rd - Brianna Hibberd (J)
15 Yrs Boys - 1st and AGC - David Rundell (M) - 2nd - Joel Richardson (L), 3rd - Matt Fava (R)
16 Yrs Girls - 1st and AGC - Brooke Hards (J), 2nd - Chloe Barker (L), - 3rd – Natasha Parks (L)
16 Yrs Boys - 1st and AGC - Jordan Stainer (R), 2nd - Caleb Ernst (J), 3rd - Julian Rayner (R)
We have had some close finishes over the past few years, with 8 points, 2 points, 1 point and 10 points being the difference between first and second over the last 4 years. This year was no different with Middleton claiming the title for the second year running. They won by the slender margin of 3 points with Roberts second and Lloyd third. In fact 5 points was all that separated 1st, 2nd and 3rd and fourth palced Johansen was only 16 points the winning house.
The final scores were:
Middleton 167 Points
Roberts 164 Points
Johansen 162 Points
Lloyd 151 Points
Congratulations to Middleton House, age group winners, placegetters and to everyone who “had a go”!
The first 7 place getters from each age group for both males and females from our I/H Cross-Country will represented the college at the I/S competition to be held on the same course at Apex Park on Wednesday 23rd May.
